La (00:06)
Welcome back. This is another episode of Lather Up with La. How
Chanelle (00:11)
And Chanelle
La (00:12)
you doing, Queen?
Chanelle (00:14)
Optimistic.
La (00:16)
Why is that, Pray Tell?
Chanelle (00:21)
because the Young and the Restless named their new co head writers for the soaps. And it's Jamey Giddens and Dan O'Connor. So not only do we have Joss Griffith stepping down, goodbye, Joss, but now it takes two, count 'em two new co head writers to hopefully clean up what he created.
La (00:45)
Alright, let me give you a little bit about their credentials. We got Mr. Giddens, who was the co-owner of the podcast Daytime Confidential. Started it in 2007. He was a writer and podcasted. Then he created a primetime drama called Ambitions that ran on OWN from 2019 to 2020. He also wrote for Days of Our Lives and has been
awarded the Writers Guild of America and Daytime Emmy for that. Then he also did Days of Our Lives Beyond Salem, streaming spinoff. And then he ended up working for Beyond the Gates as a breakdown writer. And then on Young and the Restless as a co-head writer.
And then the other gentleman, Mr. O'Connor, he worked for One Life to Live as a writer's assistant, joined General Hospital's writing team in 2012 he joined and in 2019 he became a co-head writer, and then he left in 2024. So they have
time in the daytime field.
Chanelle (01:55)
Yeah, and
this is also the first time since twenty thirteen that YR has gone the co-head writer route, which if this is what they need to shake it up to the good old days, I'm here for it. I remain optimistic. I I'm going to trust in the credentials because if this doesn't work, then I'm gonna need them to call us. Cause I I need some new blood, some new storylines. I need things that make sense in my seasoned age.
La (02:25)
And I feel like there's a lot to clean up. There's gonna need to be a big old whiteboard and the red string strategy because you need to connect this to this. You need to figure out that this is gonna work, but this isn't. We need to definitely clear out
All of the stuff that has been questionable at best. getting into last week's shows, we have Sienna and Noah constantly bickering because Noah is convinced that any time spent with Matt Clark is
problematic when it comes to his and Sienna's relationship because he feels like the turnaround by Matt is chipping away at Sienna, making her see him in a different light.
But then when we read previews for this coming week, it's learned that Sienna and Noah are going to go back to LA. And as I pointed out, I think over a month ago, Danny is most likely gonna be in charge of the Genoa City Shadow Room, which makes the most sense since he's a rock star, who also apparently has no problem tending bar. But why bring them back?
To create something that nobody asked for. Nobody was vying for the Shadow Room Club. He came, and I'm telling you, this is what Noah does. He comes up with these club ideas, gets it started, and then rolls out. That's what he did when his dad had the Underground. Nick ended up running that. Then he went to London with Jack's daughter, came up with that.
She's still, as far as we know, running that and he left her high and dry to run off to LA and come up with this Shadow Room thing and ended up with Sienna. So he never is a club owner in my eyes. He's the idea man.
Chanelle (04:29)
Well, the fact that the idea for the Shadow Room here in GC version was a complete ripoff of what Matt Clark did in LA, I I question his credentials on being creative genius either with that.
La (04:42)
True.
Chanelle (04:42)
I really just wanted to figure out, you know, were we really missing Noah before he came back with this whole Matt Clark storyline? I mean, I always like to have some of the legacy characters and their children and grandchildren in the mix.
But I think just starting out with bringing Noah to become a homewrecker, to be a cheater, the age gap relationship of it all, I could just never sink my teeth into it. And the fact that they have me rooting more for Matt Clark, who we always have to remind ourselves, serial rapist, bad
La (05:17)
Bad guy.
Chanelle (05:18)
guy. Like, you know, it's like you always gotta remind yourself like why am I rooting more for him than I am supposedly for the protagonist?
Okay, Noah, adios. Like, I don't know if you'll really be missed. You really didn't even interact with everybody. You didn't even know that Nick was in rehab.
La (05:36)
Right. Everybody else did.
Chanelle (05:38)
It's like, hey, Christian, off camera, but still being talked about. Like, okay.
La (05:42)
Yes,
like daddy's in the rehab. Well, how come everybody knows but me? Because you're always up on Sienna's butt, making sure that Matt doesn't get close to her. Like you're too jealous, he's too possessive, and I think it's hilarious that you would rather let this man run you out of town and away from your family just to keep Sienna. Like, really? Yes. And she's told
Chanelle (06:03)
Look, respect your elders. Respect your elders.
La (06:06)
you I don't need you policing me.
That's what Matt did and you're doing the exact same thing. And I just feel like he wants to isolate her so she has nobody but him and he has nobody but her. And it's toxic, but you do you boy.
Chanelle (06:23)
Goodbye. and then I feel like also the storyline this week dealing with Matt Clark, Phyllis. we called this. I I was like, if it
La (06:33)
Yes, we did.
Chanelle (06:33)
wasn't gonna be Phyllis, I I in a way at initially, Joss, when I had some sort of faith in you, I thought maybe it's Patty. Maybe she wouldn't go the crazy route and try to get with Jack. But no, that didn't pan out. And and now we have it where I'm supposed to.
not only be glad that he's staying, them hooking up, but even Phyllis is acting a little bit desperate. Like he leaves after their wonderful night of rendezvousing and it's like, where were you? Where what you know, I called. Don't don't listen to the voicemail. And I'm like, while he's making it funny, I'm like, girl, is it because you have no one else in your corner? Like to the point that even Daniel saw you Athletic Club
He saw you at the Althetic Club and tried to turn around without you even noticing. Like, if if she didn't have Matt Clark, I don't even know if there would be a reason to have Phyllis on the screen.
La (07:28)
It's true. And
we joke about it all the time, but this is really real now. Your security team that you all keep bringing up time and time again, supposedly working for the Newmans, is crap at best. Because you're telling me that watching Matt Clark supposedly 24 hours and he had an ankle monitor, he was able not only to leave the ranch, go have sex with Phyllis, leave Phyllis, come home back to the ranch.
Pack a bag and then leave again and take off the ankle monitor. And all we hear is Noah telling Sharon, he hasn't even left his room since he made his announcement that he was leaving town. Are you all qualified? Because it is horrible. The fact
Chanelle (08:13)
Top flight security of the world, Craig. This
La (08:17)
that you all have been attacked and almost killed numerous times, it all makes sense to me now. Your security is
Horrific. You need to clean house, Mr. Newman, and get a new team because it's the same thing with blind Nikki, who can now see, hooray. She had this terrible nightmare by herself at the ranch, convinced that somebody had broken in and was taunting her.
And I hate to say it, but when they were like, you know, security didn't notice, I'm like, Victoria, no, because your security never notices anything. People come in and out and off this property like it's open season. Might as well be a grocery store, because anybody can come in and out. But it jogged her visual abilities again because when she woke up,
The first face she saw was Victor's and it was amazing. So just like the doctor told her, give it a minute. We took off the bandages and we think we fixed everything, but she didn't believe and she just knew she was gonna be blind forever. But she can see now. So that's great.
Chanelle (09:33)
Yeah, it took a lot to get there. I have mixed reactions about that whole solo episode that they did. And again, this goes back to Joss Y. Porque. Like it was one of those things I feel like I
La (09:47)
Por quê?
Chanelle (09:48)
have to say it in so many different languages because while I guess it showed the the frustration and and the emotional turmoil that she was in.
I'm like, now that would have been the time for for flashbacks. That would have been
La (10:03)
Yes.
Chanelle (10:04)
the time to maybe, you know, if my sight doesn't come back, what have I missed or spent too long worrying about? And if it wasn't someone who was a legacy character, then I don't know if it would have been as impactful. Like I just don't see what the whole point of it was, just to end with there. If it wasn't Melody Thomas Scott.
I I might I might have missed that episode. I would have just gone pastit I don't know if this is really worthy of an an Emmy nomination reel for next year, but again, it's because we rock with Nicki Newman.
La (10:46)
It's true and I honestly feel like we should have elongated this a little more. I think we could have made Victor
help her or watch her struggle, or even her becoming more, you know, adapt to the situation, just reminding him of how much he loves her and she remembering, try to remember his face, remember the face of her children. Like you could have capitalized on that. And I think we did it too quickly.
Chanelle (11:13)
Look, yes.
Look, a little Lionel Richie. Hello. Let me feel your face.
La (11:16)
Yes, yes. Hello.
Chanelle (11:20)
Let me feel your face and remember
La (11:22)
Yeah
Chanelle (11:23)
the well why we fell in love. And even after the fact
La (11:26)
Yes!
Chanelle (11:27)
of like the next day at the Athletic Club, that's where we're going everytime And it's like looking at the fruit. And I'm like, again, if this wasn't Nikki, would I be as invested? And then
La (11:36)
I wouldn't care. Nope.
Chanelle (11:38)
it's like, after all this, I'm glad she brought up. She was like, just because I lost my sight.
You were being an ass. Like, what what does this mean for our relationship? And
La (11:47)
And he literally
finally was like, Okay, maybe I can accept Jack as your friend. Maybe I've been mad for too long. I'm like, that's all she said before the blindness. And I'm mad that it took her sight to to be taken for you to be like, all right, all right.
Chanelle (12:03)
And now it looks like moving forward this is some sort of vow renewal 'cause I'm like, no papers were ever signed. This was like a
La (12:09)
Right, they weren't divorced,
they were just separated, and it wasn't even that long. So why are we having a celebration like that? Let's just move her back in and try to reestablish ourselves. We don't have to have another wedding. Like we've done this many, many times. We don't need another one. Yes, let's not let's
Chanelle (12:23)
Again. Not our first rodeo at all.
La (12:29)
not dwell on that. Then let's get to my boy Devon. Devon?
Has come to terms where he ain't right. He ain't right right now. He is easily to pop off. He can't talk to his wife. His mother-in-law tried to holler at him and he didn't seem to register. The only person he can really address his issues with is his sister Lily, who was trying to enjoy some quality time with her boo Cane.
Cane comes over. She got on this come get me dress with the bra hanging out. And he was he was doomed from the door. And she made her apparently famous enchiladas in the smallest kitchen ever created by man. I think it was a hot plate.
It was the I was like, is that the kitchen behind the bar? I can't even see it. Anyway, she made the famous enchiladas and the kids apparently love it more than life. And so to taunt them, they take a picture eating it together, and the kids are like, How dare you make the good food and we're not there? And one thing leads to another. And he's just like, Are we gonna do this? Cause I don't know if we should, because I've done so many bad things, and I'm so sorry. And I will spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to you. But I don't even know if I'm worthy of you.
Right now. And she's like, that's all it took. And they was going at it. And the afterglow, they enjoying each other and Devon gone call. I need my sista, I'm going through it. She's like, Bruh, really? All right, Cane, we can't have you here. It anything can set him off, especially you. So if you don't mind.
need you to roll out. And he is on cloud nine anyway, does not care. He was like, Hopefully this won't be the last time we do this. So I am perfectly fine walking out. And he leaves and Devon just explains. I'm lost. I don't know what's wrong with me. I think he's manic or bipolar. Either way, go get checked by a neurologist, my guy. Go get checked by a shrink. You have inner turmoil for some reason and you need to talk to a professional.
Chanelle (14:46)
Yeah, he's definitely taking it out on everybody else. And it doesn't help because you know how I feel about that hobosexual who might be a homewrecker. Daniel was
La (14:57)
Daniel.
Chanelle (14:57)
circling. Circling, Abby. I'm like, now how long has it been you back in town where all of a sudden it's like, hey Abby, let's go to the Shadow Room. you're not looking, you know, glowing like you usually do. What's wrong? And I'm like, sir, you weren't just with
Tessa a few months ago, like slow it down. What job do you have? Random.
La (15:17)
I know. I was kinda I wasn't expecting him to try
to like be there for Abby. I mean, they're n
Chanelle (15:22)
Take her out of this funk. Yeah.
La (15:24)
they've never been super close. He was closer to was it Mariah? No, I don't know. But he's always been super close to Lily, of course, because they were a couple back in the day. But
Chanelle (15:34)
Mm-hmm.
La (15:35)
I don't remember really them being friendly, friendly. Like they were cordial.
But for him to be like, Let's go to the club I'm like, You are so lonely. Poor thing. Lucy must be finally got some friends and you ain't got nobody. So
Chanelle (15:50)
Yeah, 'cause remember it l what did she say? She was saying that he he wasn't cool and and Gen Z speak. And again, let's let's mix a little bit of that because it just, as an elder millennial, don't make it seem like he's so far out of touch that yeah, that didn't help. But it was just interesting to see how this is all going to unfold because I'm like now we know
Abby has reached out to Devon. She's like, Talk to me. I'm your wife. If you can't talk to me, who can you talk to? And he was like, Just my sister at this point. So it's like, okay, is this another storyline we're gonna have to clean up? Are we gonna go down this path? If not, is he just gonna wake up one day and be like, I'm good now? Because we now know that Mariah's coming back. So where will this anger this?
La (16:37)
And where has Tessa been?
Is Tessa on tour? I haven't seen her.
Chanelle (16:42)
Look, her and Arya are probably chilling at home, just glad that she has her wife back. And if not,
La (16:47)
I guess.
Chanelle (16:48)
I I need a storyline to make up for the foolishness of how we got to this point.
La (16:53)
And Billy mad at Sally because she sold his gift to his, as Chanelle pointed out last week, mortal enemy. How dare you? And they're supposed to be getting married in October. He is back with his obsession again, Chancellor, and now he's convinced that his mom has hidden something ridiculously important.
In the inner workings of Chancellor, and he will not stop until he finds it. Now, on the soap streets, it's a possibility, that what is hidden is his actual paternity, that he is not indeed an Abbott, just like Ashley is not an Abbott. And I don't know who could be the father if it's not John Abbott, but why would you hide that in a corporate
Filing Yeah.
Chanelle (17:45)
Yeah, it's not the Da Vinci code. I really just didn't need
it to go on as far. The fact that he finally gets hired by Cane to come back to Chancellor and this is your first like stop business. Like Cane said, the ink is not even dry on the contracts yet. Like please don't have me regret hiring you because everyone else told me not to. Like, come on, Billy.
La (18:10)
So we say all this to say, co-head writers, you have a lot of work to do to make it make sense. You gotta make me wanna tune in even more than I I tune in now because we do it for who? We do it for the people. Ew. But
Chanelle (18:27)
For you, we do it for you people.
La (18:30)
I dun I don't wanna just do it for the people. I wanna do it because I can't wait to watch. And I have not had that feeling in a while. So if y'all can do something to rectify that and make it must see soap TV, I'd appreciate it.
Chanelle (18:44)
And I'm
tired of talking about AI. let's also get the businesses.
La (18:46)
Yes, no more AI, no more niece, and there
better not be no more kidnappings for a while. Nobody
Chanelle (18:52)
Please.
La (18:52)
is to be snatched off the streets of GC for the rest of the year. We've had our fill. Don't want no more.
Chanelle (19:01)
Like let's get back to soap basics.
La (19:03)
Yes, yes, let's get to the foundations. Now let's go to GH, where Jason is back. But is he really?
Because on Friday's episode, he informs his boss of decades that he can no longer be his number one hitman. I can't work for you anymore, Sonny. Jason Morgan, what else can you do, my guy? Do you have other skills other than murder and espionage? You know, like being a wannabe spy for the Mafia King. What else do you do?
Chanelle (19:45)
He has a particular set of skills, if you will.
La (19:47)
Yes, but
this is not taken. This is Port Charles. Like they tried to make you corporate and you rejected it when you were young. You've never gone back. You've never done anything that wasn't illegal. Even trying to get a regular job, your rap sheet, even though you have barely been convicted for anything thanks to the amazing lawyering skills of Diane, you still have a record.
I just don't know what you're gonna do. They can't make you part of the Quartermane Corporation. I don't think it's a good look. He's supposedly doing this, I presume, for his son Danny and trying to be the one stable parent now that Sam has unfortunately passed away. But it's just not in his nature. He doesn't have parental skills like that.
Chanelle (20:39)
Just glad or mad that it took him this long to finally realize, hmm, I gotta be a better father. Let's step this up. I'm like that.
La (20:48)
I should do good.
Chanelle (20:49)
I was like, now I want to know what they really talked about on this road trip because I'm like, you have been going through it for how many years now? And after this one moment, it's like I gotta be a better father. Danny is, you know, a cry for help, if you will. Took the boat out, has been in trouble with the law.
Still dealing with Drew now that he's back up and talking and walking Yes, let me be there for my son. And again, let's remember he has more than one son.
La (21:20)
Right.
But I think the other one, Elizabeth's son, kind of gave up. He was like, let's not play this game. It's over. Okay, let's
Chanelle (21:27)
Jason. Father.
La (21:30)
go to Drew, who for some ridiculous reason, I thought being trapped in his own body, seeing the person who did this to him, Willow, would make him a better man.
Apparently I was wrong. He is
Chanelle (21:47)
Hmm.
La (21:47)
is it possible that he's actually worse? He's horrible.
Chanelle (21:51)
Yes, because w
we've enjoyed the silence for how many months the blinking got annoying. I wanted to learn Morse code at one point, but it's now to hear him having to talk, walk, and sneer at people. I'm like, Ugh Really? I was like, This is why you got shot in the first place. This is exactly why.
La (22:09)
Right. And Alexis said,
Alexis was like, I can just wait it out. You have made so many enemies. Somebody else gonna try to kill you. And he was like, Is that a threat? She was like, I ain't have to lift a finger. You are just that awful that somebody else is gonna try to take you out. And that's a that's a profound statement by anybody, especially, you know, your child's grandmother. She's like, I can't wait for you to die, and I ain't gonna have to worry about it.
Chanelle (22:34)
Look, and
the one who knows that you're now estranged soon to be ex-wife is the one who pulled the trigger to begin with.
La (22:41)
And she knows that too. He just doesn't know she knows. And unfortunately, Willow is also. They were together because they both have black hearts. They are terrible human beings because now she is all peacocking because she got away with almost killing Drew, got away with keeping him trapped in his body with the drug stuff. And now that he's up and running again, she has blackmailed him with the help of Brennan.
with the federal charges that he could face if Brennan turns in the evidence he finally got from Valentin from that black box. She is sealing herself and she goes to Michael, she's like, I need my 50% custody. And if you
Chanelle (23:23)
Yeah, fifty fifty.
La (23:24)
Yeah, and she was like, it's gonna be more if you try to challenge me because you tried to you know you killed that woman 20 years ago, which he went to prison for. You are dating a hooker. She's no longer a hooker. You
You know, you've done unseemly things. I think my chances are good to get all the custody of our children. I'm like, madam, you know what you've done. And my hope is that Michael teams up with Drew temporarily. Mm, possibly by the guidance of Tracy temporarily.
to take down Willow and then Michael and Tracy have a backup plan to take down Drew.
Chanelle (24:10)
Even need all that. I just need Kai and Trina to finally step to the plate and be
like, you know what? Willow's too crazy for this. Maybe now that Trina realizes her brother's gonna be living in a world, especially here in Port Charles, where Willow's gonna be walking free. The lady needs to be taking down a peg. At least give that information to Michael because I'm like, Kai, what was your whole point in the grand scheme of things? Sticking around collecting a check.
to be there for Drew and you didn't really follow through with anything.
La (24:43)
He didn't research. He never even told Drew that he knew the truth. And honestly, I feel like he was just working for Willow. But now that Drew is, you know, back to normal, I don't even know if they can follow through and take down Willow because it's been so long. They told Alexis and she's so nervous about Scout and messing up things with Drew for him keeping Scout away, even though he's already taken her back.
that she doesn't want to ruffle any feathers, they need to figure out a way to point the finger at Willow. But I don't even know if they could because was the case dismissed or she was exonerated. I can't remember. Either way, it came out that she was not found guilty. So yes.
Chanelle (25:34)
Look, not guilty, but still definitely not innocent. And I the double jeopardy and she can't be tried.
La (25:43)
to do anything which makes it worse.
Chanelle (25:45)
What are you good for?
La (25:46)
Nothing. Not a thing. And then we have Ethan replaced the Ethan we who got shot in the booty. We got a different one now. Yes.
Chanelle (25:55)
Look, Ethan two point because I was like, Harpo, who this man on my screen
when he first came to I said, why he looking like Cody two point
La (26:05)
Everybody said
it looked like an older version of Cody. We're like, we can't tell him apart. But
Chanelle (26:09)
No Australian accent.
La (26:11)
but we really don't have to worry about him because apparently he's on the run now. It's our understanding that Phoebe's actual father has arrived in Port Charles. 2.0 sees him at the pool and is like, I can't stay here. Goes to Lulu's house where he's been staying, packs his bags. Luckily, Lulu got home in time to see him before he rolls out. He was like, I got
And she's like, you begged Sonny with the push about how close Luke and Sonny were. You used our father to get a job with Sonny, and now you're just gonna dip. No explanation, no apology, just rolling out. He was like, I got to go. And we're under the impression that after Ethan and Ava slept together, that
He confessed to her, No, I'm not Phoebe's father, but I helped Delilah, Phoebe's mother, get away from him because he's so dangerous. First off, the guy didn't look that dangerous, but you know, looks can be deceiving. But you would think that he w he didn't even give Eva a name. So she's walking around Port Charles, not even aware that this dangerous, horrible person and Chase in Brook Lynn are supposed to sign.
the final paperwork this coming week to get her, is he gonna mess it up? Is he gonna finally claim the daughter that he didn't even know he had? Like, this is bizarre. why bring Ethan at all if he was just gonna do a drive by?
Chanelle (27:42)
Yeah, well we know he at least hit it and quit it with Ava, so at this point
La (27:47)
Like he left her at the pool, no, hey, I gotta go, something came up, just didn't even respond to her call or text.
Chanelle (27:56)
Said, let somebody though tell your story. And because of this, here she's unfortunately spilling the information to this very bad guy because we're like, okay, everything that he was able to glean from the being at the Metro Court was because Ava was just talking loudly. It really was. Like, that's all it was.
La (28:21)
True. Yeah. And then he calls Lulu and she's spilling information to a stranger. Ethan used to live here, but he doesn't live here because he just went out of the country. I'm like, why are you telling the supposed mail carrier or delivery guy all of this? He's not here. That's all you needed to say. And send the package back. He's no longer living here. Send the package back. You are the daughter of.
Chanelle (28:45)
Yeah, which makes it funny.
La (28:47)
Of a guy who was always on the run, Luke Spencer, and you just spillin' info like that.
Chanelle (28:54)
Mm. It's like, who are you? Joss and the W look, Joss and the WSB. Is this what we're dealing with? Because again, my favorite spy, it's like, I feel like everyone in Port Charles not only knows that she's a WSB agent, she even told her enemy, Emma, was like
La (29:13)
And Emma
was like, I'm sorry, grandma, did you know about this? Yeah. Who didn't? That's what I gotta know. I don't know who doesn't know now. And the fact that
Chanelle (29:21)
In the face
La (29:22)
she told her over tea at the pool, I went for the WSB now. Wait, what?
Chanelle (29:28)
I'm sorry I had to lie to you. Oof, don't want to have to do that again. But you like my new dig? I'm like, why does she have to wear the dowdiest of clothes all of a sudden? Is like now or two to take her seriously as a WSB agent because she's in a black suit? Like what in the world?
La (29:42)
Yes, if she isn't in a pantsuit,
Chanelle, it's not real.
Chanelle (29:46)
I'm like I I'm like then she's I guess can't finish college now. I'm like, Well, ma'am, at this point they need to go in and hack your grading system. I said, Because did you even finish a class? You were kind of missing for quite some time. Like, feel like finals passed you by. Like, I re
La (30:02)
Again, I
don't understand why she's allowed to stay in town when you can't do anything undercover anymore. Not with the whole city knowing who you are and what you're doing. And everybody's like, you didn't know Joss was WSB? Did you hear about Joss? I'm like, it's spreading like wildfire. You can't be here anymore. You have to be reassigned.
Chanelle (30:25)
We'll see how long that lasts 'cause again, and one person we do know is WSB didn't really care, but I was like, it intrigued me somewhat more was new doctor in town.
La (30:38)
New doctor claims that he doesn't work for the WSB per se, but he's still under Brennan's thumb, so you must be here for a reason. And you were on the plane with Jason. So he knew that he has WSB ties and he warned Britt, and she's under the impression that he's being used to spy on her, even though she's pretty much done. But he was like, I ain't got nothing to do with you. I'm just here being a doctor. it can't be that simple.
Chanelle (31:05)
Yeah, it's like, okay, Dr. Roberts, wink wink. But like,
La (31:08)
What?
Chanelle (31:08)
what what what's the point? Of again, you're bringing so many new people that I'm like, can I get back to some of these legacy characters that I'm supposed to care about? Or at least I guess their offspring because someone else came to town this week. Mm-hmm.
La (31:22)
Hat Daddy. Hat Daddy came
back to town to see his new grandchild. But he also came with some advice. He was like, let me holler at you, son. Are you sure that going to trial is in the best interest of you and your family? Is the plea deal still on the table?
And I mean we as viewers know that he is wrong, wrong, wrong. But he's going to die on this hill. He is going to die on the hill that Isaiah left him and Jordan to die on the streets of Port Charles, even though they almost died because of their own making out sessions while driving in the dark. And
Isaiah is on a mission. He's like, My goal is to send that man to jail for taking away my livelihood and that way I can infiltrate I don't think
Chanelle (32:19)
It it really was.
La (32:20)
I don't think Curtis is a good man for that boy, so I'm gonna be the man.
Chanelle (32:26)
I just a lot of fighting going over for a child who at this point is still trying to hold his head up. I really just need them to do that. my gosh.
La (32:33)
But he's so cute, he's such a cutie.
Chanelle (32:35)
That's the only reason I don't probably fast forward through some of his scenes because I'm like, again, we fighting over this child. Like Desmond really knows who the daddy is at this point. Like let him live. And until we get to that, I'm like, Curtis, you might have to take an L on this because
La (32:53)
I think he
will. I think he has to. It's out of control now. It's the train has left the station. If you had pulled back weeks ago, we wouldn't be in this predicament. But with you putting your foot on the gas all the way to the floor, you might have to pay for this mistake.
Chanelle (33:11)
Look, even Stella, she's not angry, just a little disappointed. Wanting the family to bring it all in and Kumbayad out, but it's like no, no, no. And speaking of also someone coming to town, Serena Baldwin.
La (33:25)
Yes. Without her father.
Chanelle (33:29)
That part is what got me thrown for a loop. And I'm like, Okay. So we just don't care about Scotty no more? Scotty don't know?
La (33:36)
We know,
we know. He is living his best life in Key West and
Serena is back because her mom, Lucy Coe summoned her to help her get back Deception. And I don't know how because she confessed to her mother. So you know that trust y'all gave me? I kinda went through all of it. I don't have a dime left to my a name. I was like, gosh. So
Knowing that she's destitute, Lucy is going to utilize her in some way,
Chanelle (34:08)
I really again someone I didn't know or really think to bring up until she was finally on my screen. Definitely don't know how she's gonna be helping Lucy, but I guess now that Brook Lynn and all that situation with Deception and getting shares has fallen by the wayside because of being brought to light. I I'm like okay.
La (34:32)
Well, she gets to meet Cody, hopefully, because that's her half brother. But again, without Scott, it loses its necessity to me. Like, I know Lucy is her mother documented, but not her actual mother. And Scott is her dad. So if you don't have Scott back, why bring her?
Chanelle (34:56)
Again, we bring a lot of people to Port Charles, but I'm like, What's the reason? Yeah, what's
La (35:00)
that aren't needed. Yeah.
Chanelle (35:03)
the reason?
La (35:04)
Yes. All right, shall we go to the DMV?
Chanelle (35:08)
Yeah, I mean before we go though, I just have another quip. This whole thing with Dante and Elizabeth, we
La (35:17)
Oh right.
Chanelle (35:18)
we haven't even gotten to the actual softball games yet. But I'm like, am I supposed to be trying to root for them? Am I supposed to be sad that what she's do I confusion. Confusion and I root for it.
La (35:33)
Like Rick. I think Rick is really trying to make an effort
to be better for Elizabeth. But everybody around them, like Lucas, everybody is like Rick is just bad news. But Dante, I mean, I don't even know if he's truly over losing Sam and
I just I don't know if he's in the right headspace to be with Elizabeth. He does like her and he's a better man on paper, but Rick has loved her for so long. I think it's about time that he gets to be with her.
Chanelle (36:11)
I love you, like it's his time now.
La (36:13)
It is, I think it's his time, but you know, him working for Sonny doesn't help his case.
Chanelle (36:19)
Well, at this point he probably the only one working for Sonny, so I feel like I'm gonna keep watching now that he's seen it firsthand how she rollin'. I I again this was one of those sub storylines that it's just like, he's been trying so hard, got her, you know, the
La (36:39)
Yes.
Chanelle (36:40)
artwork and everything else. I said, This is how you gonna do my boy? Really?
La (36:44)
Yeah. And if
she lets him go, you're gonna unleash the old Rick. We don't want that. We don't want that.
Chanelle (36:51)
We don't want to see that. We don't.
And Anna, you know how I feel about this Peter ghosts situation. I
La (36:58)
Well,
it was a little more pinpointed the fact that the ghost of Peter August is now helping Anna eliminate all Faison. Anything related to Faison has to be gotten rid of. We don't have Cassius anymore, supposedly. We don't have Peter anymore. Faison is dead.
Obrecht doesn't really count, so we gotta kill Britt. So now that is supposedly what Peter is encouraging her to do if she wants to be forever free of Faison.
Chanelle (37:33)
Like just add this to another thing that Britt has to deal with. I mean,
La (37:37)
Right.
Chanelle (37:38)
I I don't hate her as much as some of the other people do, but I'm like, can the girl catch a break? Like please.
La (37:44)
She can't get a moment's peace.
Chanelle (37:48)
well. But that's all. We we may move
La (37:51)
All right.
Chanelle (37:52)
forward.
La (37:53)
Beyond the Gates, I could not contain myself. Last week Chanelle was like, I need the story to bring back or let
Primary characters remember that Randy was going by Sammy and was helping Hayley when she had her miscarriage. And when I tell you an episode last week covered all of that in one scene, I was through. So apparently now it is determined by Naomi, Chelsea, and Katlock. that
You know, Hayley and Randy have a connection, and it's not in a good way. So it all stems from Naomi and Chelsea going over to their dad's house, being very concerned that he checked himself out of the hospital after yet another episode caused by Hayley and Randy's concoction always being in everything he ever puts in his mouth.
And of course he's like, I'm, you know, I'm a man, I can handle it, blah, blah, blah. And, you know, the shimmies have stopped, which they have, and he's still having the tremors. And, you know, I'm perfectly fine. They can't find anything wrong with me, so I'm good. And they just keep, you know, trying to convince him you need to seek
help let her do more testing. She's gotta find something eventually. And Hayley's like, look, Madison don't know what she's doing. She's tried, she's failed, let it go. Your father has already decided that he don't need to be tested. So back off and get out of my house. And they were not pleased with that. Even Bill was like, whoa, and so to keep the peace, he asks his daughters to leave and they are pissed. So they
Go to the club, they see Kat. She's like, What's the deal? And she's like, You sure Hayley has his best interest at heart? And that's when all of the information that we've had from last year comes spilling out. Naomi confesses to Chelsea and Kat that, hey, I didn't want to say anything, but Hayley admitted to me that she did fake.
the ultrasound claiming that she was pregnant. And then Kat's like, Was she ever ever pregnant? And Naomi is like, Well she made such a big deal and she was so upset that I didn't want to push, but now I'm questioning. And then they bring up Sammy.
And then Dani is also at the club, and she's like, What you mean, Sammy? You might as well change his name because Vanessa informed me that that's not what he's called. His name is Randy, and he's been a longtime friend of Doug. And the girls also confess to Dani hey, dad kicked us out because Hayley said that she and him will handle his medical affairs. And Dani is mad at that. But Katlock is on the case. She got a little iPad. She's taking in all the information and
Then she's given even more information when she goes to Ophrey Gene's and sees Deanna with Randy. And they were meeting up so they could get the final paperwork together for the condo that Deanna and Vanessa got for Kat. So while they're together, Kat is like, Who was that I saw you hugging on? And she's like, that's my dad's old friend that
His name is Randy. He's known us since we were little. And that's all Kat needs. She's like, Randy, you say. And it's like all the wheels are turning. We are finally putting pieces together to figure out that Hayley is a problem.
Chanelle (41:28)
And again, some of this could have been avoided if she was not trying to poison Bill to the point of death so that she can get to St. Bart, to actually maybe remembering her plan as a grifter. Because it's gone beyond just trying to poison and kill the man to feeling a certain way because she was never able to completely sink her claws into him to the point that the other women in his life aren't circling or caring about him.
She even got mad because initially she thought she, you know, she kicked Naomi and Chelsea out, but then found sunglasses. And she was like, is he cheating on me? And then she was like, wait a minute. I know these sunglasses, it's Dani. And that grinds her gears even more. And I'm like,
La (42:15)
It does.
Chanelle (42:16)
good.
La (42:17)
And her plan is crazy because her goal is to try to get him to go out of town, kill him at St. Bart's because you remember he bought that house for them. And Randy is like, I got a friend who can cremate him. I'm like, Do you really think that that's not gonna raise suspicion? If you take this man out of the country, he dies, and you come back with an urn, they are going to
Why did you have to have him cremated before we even brought the body back to find out? Yes.
Chanelle (42:46)
What is it, Sims?
La (42:49)
Like I was like, that's your plan? That's bad.
Chanelle (42:53)
Again,
this goes back to we have been dealing with a year of him being poisoned. And I I know they probably want Hayley to stay, but they need to figure out a different way. At one point, it's like you want to root for because it's like that's what Bill gets for cheating on Dani and blowing up his life. Now
La (43:13)
Right.
Chanelle (43:13)
it's just like it's almost comical because it's
La (43:16)
It is,
Chanelle (43:18)
She's going, she's fighting people, she's giving out misinformation, even Smitty looking at her funny, like, mm-hmm, this sounds weird. That's not what I you know heard about Lynette or from about Lia. Now it's this idea of you can't keep telling me that Bill's the ultimate fixer in the DMV and has not had a background check on his wife, has not had like a PI to follow her. Like every other day she's meeting at
Uptown with Randy. And I'm like, come on now. Like, there has to be something that gives. And in a funny way, if she keeps playing the way that she's moving, it might be Leslie who figures it out. Because I feel like when it comes to just like clocking Hayley for who she is, aside from Dani, who just hates her for what she did, Leslie picked up on it like crazy recognized crazy. you you doing something, like you know.
Mm, I wanna be there, I wanna be your friend, but if not, and you don't want me as an enemy and I'm like, Okay, we having this conversation out and about, like, you can't even keep up the facade anymore.
La (44:21)
feel like she's just getting very sloppy and I feel like Bill has blinders on because like you said, you blew up your own life for this little piece. And to admit that not only you were dead wrong, she never wanted you, but she literally just wanted your money. How is he supposed to deal with that? So instead of that he's just Looking the other way.
And it's like, she just cares about me so much. That's why she's so possessive. That's why she acted a certain way with my daughters, which he had to go and keep the peace afterwards, after Dani came and was like, You can't ever, ever, ever talk to my daughters that way. I don't care what Hayley says. If they wanna see you, you are their father, you let them see you. He was like, I understand. I already have talked to Hayley and put her in her place and let her know that
This may be our house, but those are my daughters and they are always welcome. But I am going to insist just to keep things, you know, on the up and up, that they text or call first and not just pop by to keep her
satisfied with that. That's all Hayley asked. And then he was like, Fine, I guess they can call first. And he goes to the girls and tells them this and Chelsea was big mad. But she was like, Fine, we'll call first. But again, Hayley You're making too many
easily identifiable mistakes. And like I said, Katlock is on the case now. She's putting things together and it won't be long before her life may be in danger because once Hayley figures out how close she's getting, she's gonna have to take that girl out.
Chanelle (46:01)
Well, at this point, I trust Kat better than I do when it comes to Jacob and the and
La (46:07)
absolutely.
Chanelle (46:08)
the police because it's like all these storylines. I'm still screaming out justice for Laura. And then
La (46:15)
Yes.
Chanelle (46:16)
it's like the plasma ring, it's come to a point where, okay, you're not gonna find out what we need at this moment in time. Why is that still your main focus? Chief Hawthorne has already told him.
you got the the low level players. You broke up the plasma ring in the DMV. Like let's not completely let it go per se, but like let's move on to some of the other crime that is happening in the DMV. We still haven't gotten that yet. So now it's like,
La (46:45)
The problem is Jacob
feels so guilty about Derek dying for him in the plasma ring case that he is defiant and will not give up. And so Smitty is kind of like egging him on because he wants more recognition So he's like, Maybe we can look into this. It's like, no. Like you said, it I mean, yes, Heather is back and she wants help from her brother. And
That may lead to something, but right now, like you said, it we live in the DMV. When I tell you there's always something else criminal to look into, there is. So for him to be like, I don't care about the other cases. All I care about is this plasma ring that's gone cold.
Chanelle (47:29)
And again, you still can't really tell me. Yes, it's a bad thing, but like who was truly impacted in the DMV? Maybe I would care a little bit more if, you know,
La (47:39)
Right.
Chanelle (47:39)
they stole from Miss Anita or the the plasma needed for yeah,
La (47:41)
Yes, if she couldn't have gotten her treatment, yes.
Chanelle (47:45)
or, you know, all of a sudden it's like Eva, you know, needed some plasma and they didn't have it's just it it's so kind of far fetched at this point that you got me rooting for the bad guy again because I like Heather. I
La (47:58)
I do like
Heather. I love her little Moxie. And she like I said, she's harder than Joey right now. She's the one to be concerned about. She's dangerous.
Chanelle (48:10)
One the first things she said, she's like, This nosy reporter keeps messing with me and asking questions. And we now know that she has even a plant or someone on her side in the FBI. And it's like, this Mitty guy gotta kill him. Gotta kill him. And
La (48:23)
Yes.
Chanelle (48:24)
and Joey's the one being like, No, no, he he's married to a congressman. We don't need and she was like, this is for you, she was like, But then again, if if that's why you want to keep them, we we can always use that as people love a good widower.
It's a great story of triumph. I'm like, okay, Heather. Again, women in male dominated industries, like you, and the way that
she interacted with Vanessa, I think she knows that Vanessa has her brother's heart. So if he doesn't kind of fall in line or help her, she might find a different avenue to get to him.
La (49:01)
Vanessa is a weakness.
Chanelle (49:02)
she could be. And if it's not Vanessa completely messing it up with Joey, Deanna.
La (49:08)
Deanna and ghost dad.
Chanelle (49:08)
Deanna, let that, look,
Ghost Daddy Doug. That's why I gotta keep calling him on this one. Because
La (49:15)
Ghost Daddy Doug.
Chanelle (49:17)
like she's starting to show her cracks in and what she's believing too. Because even talking with Kat, she was like, Yeah, you know, I'm working with my mom and I'm trying to be better when it comes to Joey. And she's like, Whoa, I'm glad, you know, you're listening to some of my advice. She's Yes, you and somebody else. And then it was like,
Deanna and she had to like think about it, but luckily, look, the first time in quite some time I realized, so Izaiah's not a professor, he's an advisor. Still makes me
La (49:46)
He is.
Chanelle (49:47)
question, but he has been talking to Deanna. And I'm like, okay, Izaiah, that's what you say. But
La (49:54)
And then he caught
her at the diner talking to the phone, which was a picture of her dad. And he's like, You good? She's like, I was just spoken to a friend and it made me think about my dad. So if he had just snuck up a little sooner, he would have heard her talking about the plan that they've made together and sounding crazy.
Chanelle (50:14)
Look,
but she's not that far gone that she wasn't like, excuse me, I'm getting a phone call. It's like, sister, you put in your earphone just so that you I'm like, okay, Deanna.
This is look, this is giving Patty Williams talking to that stuffed cat. Like it was giving
La (50:28)
Yeah.
Chanelle (50:28)
that kind of level of getting crazy. But I'm here for it. I'm here
La (50:31)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Chanelle (50:33)
for which I'm also here for is you know I love a good family moment on Beyond the Gates. And with getting the updates with Miss
La (50:38)
Céu.
Chanelle (50:40)
Anita and just her condition, they actually got to break down a soul train line at Uptown.
La (50:47)
It was so sweet. And I just love Miss Anita And she had her treatment. It only took 15 minutes. She came
Chanelle (50:56)
In and out.
La (50:57)
home. She was like, we gonna have a good time tonight. And she invited everybody over. And they she, you know, she was just like, I just have to thank everybody for your support. And I was like, I love Miss Anita. She just makes me so happy when she's happy.
Chanelle (51:14)
Mm-hmm. And what also made me happy this week, a low blow for Leslie because while everyone's celebrating,
La (51:19)
You do love that.
Chanelle (51:21)
finally she had another dose of reality when we have Ted saying, I don't ever, ever, ever, ever, ever wanna go back to you. I made a mistake. You ruined my life. We will not be together because I don't love you. Get that through your hand.
La (51:42)
She won't though, I could not laugh hard enough when she was like, you know what? When little Miss Nursy throws you away, don't come crying to me. I'm like, how many different ways has he told you he will never come to you for comfort again? He will never rely on you for any assistance in any way when it comes to his heart. Thank you for saying that you will never accept him again because he doesn't want you.
Chanelle (52:07)
It's like your promise, your promise,
your promise.
La (52:09)
Yes, like please,
can we get it in writing? Should I get a documentation? I don't want you in my life like that. The only reason you are is because of our daughter. If it means if we could get rid of you and keep her, I'd be great. And she goes to
Chanelle (52:22)
Inf Yeah.
La (52:23)
the club and she's depressed and she's drinking and Vanessa sees it and she actually tried, as many have and failed, to be nice. And she's like, What's wrong? Don't you worry about it. And she's like, Girl, I'm
You know, if you need somebody to talk to, I'm here. And she's like, my Ted, my Ted can't see that we're meant to be together. And Vanessa's like, girl, let's have a real moment right now. He was never going to be with you. He divorced my best friend. And did he come running to you? No. He ended up in the arms of somebody completely different, Shanice.
And he's already told her he loved her. He ain't said that to you, not once. Your love was never real. Even if y'all ended up together, it probably wouldn't have lasted more than six months. Give up the ghost. And of course that sends Leslie into a rage. How dare you? You're just a
Flavor of the month for Mafia King Joey Armstrong, it won't be long before either he kills you or dumps you. So don't come to me giving romance advice when you are failing yourself. I will get Ted. And it's like, every time you think she could never be more delusional, you're wrong.
Chanelle (53:45)
Again, we just leave her to her own devices. The only thing that I question that maybe she made it right, I'm still not sure, is hiring Noah. And I'm still
La (53:56)
yes.
Chanelle (53:56)
trying to figure out the grand scheme of having him in town as well as just being connected to everyone, whether it's him and Deanna on a date, I guess.
It's interesting. And then it's like we know that he with his music background, at least he knows the classics because he knows about the Articulettes. And technically he knows about this Anita Williams, because he didn't even say like the old school stuff. He was like, That is Anita Williams. Not even Anita Dupree, just Anita Williams as I live and breathe right here.
La (54:31)
And he fanboyed,
he fanboyed. He was so excited to be in her presence. It was cute.
Chanelle (54:37)
And then it's like, I'm thinking to myself, did you not know that your dad is dating her daughter? Like, okay. Like, he needs to do needs to make a little bit more research with it. Then
La (54:42)
Yeah, you didn't you didn't make any connections, did you, sweetie?
Chanelle (54:47)
speaking of his dad, Dr. Kial, when they finally have come to the realization that while she might not be ready for I Love You's, Nicole has been spending an awfully, awfully lot of time with Dr. Kial to point that while she was getting her groove on, Miss Dani walked in and still
did not mess up the complete flow of what was going down in the bedroom.
La (55:11)
Yes, Dani busted in, saw them, and was like, oops, and took a seat, because only Dani could do that. And Nicole
Chanelle (55:19)
Of course.
La (55:19)
had to usher her out, but then they had a heart-to-heart. So you've been spending a lot of time with Kial. Is this the one? I don't want a one. I'm not ready for a one. I like the, you know, Carlton Kial dynamic. And she's like, well, they may not. So don't ever feel pressured.
'Cause I think that's what it was. She might have felt a little pressured by the fact that Ted told her or she heard that him and Shanice are in the L word stage and she isn't. So she's not
Going to actually rush herself to try to keep up with what Ted is doing. But it has been a while. And Carlton hasn't really been there. When she was going through it with the whole Kat situation, she leaned on Kial. And he has stayed at her place more now that his son is staying at his condo.
Every time he comes back from a trip, she's the first person he hangs out with. And they are just in each other's lives. He's been to what two to three family events. I feel like, you know, Kial can keep it casual and he can deal with this until further notice. But I think she should just I think it it looks like she's exclusively with Kial. Like
Every blue moon she's hanging out with Carlton, but not like she is with Kial to the point where Leslie, when she hired Noah, was like, you know your father's girlfriend gets around, right? And he was like, What? And Eva had to like tame her. She's like, What you shut up? This ain't got nothing to do with a job interview. But Leslie wasn't wrong. She's like, I've seen, you know, darling Nikki all over the place, so please don't get attached.
Chanelle (57:09)
I don't be calling her bonus mom anytime soon.
La (57:12)
No.
Chanelle (57:12)
but again, I I see what they're trying to do. I just need some of these storylines to wrap up and can continue building up that family dynamics. I mean, these 15 Emmy nominations, I'm hoping for, if not a clean sweep, at least a few coming home for the show. We have at least season three on the horizon since they've wrapped.
with season two filming, I I wanna see more. I'm excited to see more. I even missed some of the P and G product placements, you know. It was turned into a great my Febreeze ain't feeling the same, you know what I'm saying?
La (57:48)
we ain't we ain't not no laundry, we ain't not no dishes. I know that
was Nicole's signature. If she ain't in
Chanelle (57:56)
Yeah.
La (57:57)
her office Febreezing what she doing?
Chanelle (57:59)
So again, I'm I'm trying to make this a full circle moment, but I'm also needing to see these storylines continue to move. That's what we wanna see. And
La (58:08)
One storyline
I want us to keep in mind. Now that Vernon is helping with this new firm, like prepping potential candidates, let's keep an eye on HomeGirl that he's helping right now. I'm concerned
Chanelle (58:25)
you you
La (58:26)
that she may have a hero complex and be a problem. Correct. Correct. Yes.
Chanelle (58:30)
Or just a little crush on on the civil rights leader that he is, you right?
La (58:36)
Thus keep an eye on her. I don't believe he would ever cheat, but I don't believe that it's not possible that somebody younger would be interested in him and all his accomplishments.
Chanelle (58:48)
Mm DMV. What do
La (58:50)
Yikes.
Chanelle (58:50)
you do?
La (58:51)
Yikes. All right. And finally, in LA, more ridiculousness between these young folks. We got Electra learning from her best friend. Before we say this, let's get a definition of a best friend. A best friend is somebody that you truly do click with. You have trust. You
can run to them in a time of need and they are not trying to steal your man.
Chanelle (59:23)
That part.
La (59:26)
Electra is convinced that Dylan is her best friend and asks having that title, that she will respect the fact that yes, Electra broke up with Will again and she said she would never take him back after what he did to her uncle, beating him down in Biikini. But
Chanelle (59:46)
That eighty year old Eric.
La (59:48)
an 80-year-old went down. But because I am not with him.
He needs time to get over not being with me. So I'm gonna put a moratorium of two years. You can't mess with Will. And Dylan is like, I know you lying. I
slept with him last night. What did you just say? Okay, I ain't sleep with him, but I slept on the couch with him and I'm in love with him, and I've been in love with him for a long time. I think my favorite line from the whole thing last week: I'm an artist. I can't.
continue to suppress my feelings. I was like, you are what now? What you
Chanelle (1:00:26)
Free love. Like
La (1:00:27)
what what are you? What did you say? Right. I was like,
Chanelle (1:00:29)
guess that's better than just saying I wanna hoe. Like, okay. Like wait, what?
La (1:00:34)
what is this? You an artist. Shut up. You a you the you wanted him from the you
Chanelle (1:00:37)
play a little guitar myself and like the paint.
La (1:00:40)
wanted him when you saw how great he was treating Electra. Just say it what it is. But
Chanelle (1:00:44)
Yeah.
La (1:00:44)
Electra is delusional and unfortunately in my eyes this past week she showed her Forrester colors because the
I demand that you stay away from Will even though I'm not with him. What privilege is this? You can't do that. Either you're with him and you keep her away, or you let him go and you move on with RJ. Like Dylan said, she was like, Y'all got a better connection. I'm better suited for Will. So since Spencer's and Forresters don't mix, let's not. Like what you want? And to the point where Electra is so furious and disgusted and
What did Dylan say that you love she mimicked Ivy?
Chanelle (1:01:25)
if you say, yeah, you you can't believe you're doing it. She's like, why? 'Cause it's not proper. It's not proper at all. I was like, ooh, I said Dylan get a little feisty when the doors closed with her best friend.
La (1:01:36)
Yes, we bringing back the old favorites. So Electra slaps her, leaves a little bruise.
Chanelle (1:01:41)
I said, I
said I Will the violence. I said so so now you see how it feels sometimes.
La (1:01:46)
Well,
remember she pointed that out. I don't know if she blamed him or not, but she was like, You got me doing stuff. I've slapped two people
Chanelle (1:01:51)
Ha ha ha ha.
La (1:01:53)
already. And I know it's because of your influence.
Chanelle (1:01:58)
Rubbing off.
La (1:01:58)
Yes.
And so Will kind of throws it back at her face. He's like, Look, girl, I love you. I've told you so many times. But you keep walking out on me when things get hard. He was like, It's this is what the third, fourth time? How am I supposed to live like this? Either you're with me or you're not. Like, I don't know what to do. But here's the problem. Both of them need to recognize that if you supposedly are in love,
When things get hard, you can't instantaneously go to the person who has a crush on you and cry on their shoulder. Dylan
Chanelle (1:02:30)
Both of them.
La (1:02:31)
keeps being there for Will when he has an issue with Electra. And RJ is, of course, waiting in the wings when Electra has a problem with Will. If you love each other, y'all can't do that. You either talk to each other or talk to somebody who doesn't want to sleep with you. That they need
Chanelle (1:02:47)
Look, that part
La (1:02:48)
somebody who does not have skin in the game. You need
Outside friend. Dylan has an outside friend, Jessica. Electra, you need a outside friend. Will, you don't need your brother. You need an outside friend. Because your brothers, I'm sure Liam will say the same thing, but Wyatt told him Spencers and Forresters don't mix. Believe me, I've been hurt by Steffy. I'm like, you were also hurt by Hope. Let's not be funny. don't
Chanelle (1:03:12)
Mm-hmm.
La (1:03:14)
forget that, bruh. But you need
An outside friend. But unfortunately, because Electra is so self-righteous, she hasn't made friends like Dylan has. So she doesn't have somebody else to go to. And unfortunately, if Daphne wasn't dealing with her infertility, maybe she could go to her. But they don't understand what love is, and they don't understand what friendship is. Because Deke comes over, Will's house is in shambles. Pizza boxes, beer cans everywhere. Like, where is the maid?
And Deke's like, you drinking in a day, like you need, you know, I'm your good friend. I'm like, are
Chanelle (1:03:51)
Are you?
La (1:03:53)
Really?
Chanelle (1:03:54)
Okay.
La (1:03:55)
All right, it's self-proclaimed, but they just don't have enough outside sources. And I do not, I can't express this enough. I don't want a bunch of new people, but these are young people and they need to have other friends beside their relatives to bounce off of. Yeah.
Chanelle (1:04:11)
Yeah, which is surprising to me. Yeah, that,
you know, the fact that Dylan had Jessica, 'cause I'm like, I remember Rick and Othello. Shout out Othello. He used to follow me on Twitter.
La (1:04:19)
Othello.
Chanelle (1:04:20)
But yeah, you gotta have someone who like looks at the family dynamics of what situations are happening and be like, Mm, that ain't right, or oof, that's crazy. Word, that's real crazy. You need that kind of thing.
La (1:04:29)
Yes. Right. Yes. So yes,
somebody with a clear eye that does not have the Forrester, you know, not on the Forrester side or the Spencer side. They just on your side. And they don't have that. So I mean, I don't know how this is gonna work. And then you have Katie going to see Will. She did not explain to him that she's been kicked out the family yet, but she didn't want I guess I
Presume she just didn't want to make him feel more guilty than he already does. No, I don't think
Chanelle (1:05:00)
Yeah, he I don't think he could handle it at that point.
La (1:05:03)
so either. But she's like, you need to go after what you want. So I'm like, you got everybody else in their mother saying Spencers or Forresters don't mix. And then you have his own mother saying, you know what, love is love. Go get what you want. And it's like, you got this boy so confused, so damn confused.
And he definitely does need anger management because when Deke was talking to him, he was like, I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine. And then he throws a beer can. I was like, see, this is what I'm talking about. You, sir, are a powder keg. We need to address your instantaneous anger. Like you doing too much. you too young and rich to be this mad. all the time. You got too
Chanelle (1:05:43)
Young air wretched.
La (1:05:44)
much money. You living in Malibu. You got your own beach. Calm down.
Chanelle (1:05:50)
Look, I get it, but I do don't like Crews. He is definitely look putting in that work as Will Spencer because it's like while you get the comedy one-liners from Wyatt, you get, I really don't know from Liam when it comes to Bill, loyalty. I nope, that ain't it, Waffle Boy. but for Will, it's the anger stuff, and it's like, okay, while he was trying to be so head over heels and all involved with Electra.
And even trying to remain loyal to Forrester Creations. I was like, this might have been his origin story. RJ, who is his cousin, is the one who pushed into this. But Electra, who is, I guess, his real first love, is the one who is leading him down the cliff. And it's like, girl, you gotta pick a side. You really do. Like, stop popping up. Stop talking about if you love me. Every other day he sees her or is in her face, is like, I love you.
You know, we should fight. Let's run away. Let's do and I'm like, baby, you act like this is not the first time that you have brought Mess to her doorstep. Like we just gonna forget about Luna. We cannot. Like,
La (1:06:57)
Luna No
Chanelle (1:06:58)
even though you it again, you were assaulted. But the fact of the matter being, you took a lot trying to prove your love for Electra after taking her virginity. And I'm like,
La (1:07:11)
Right.
Chanelle (1:07:11)
at this point, I do I root for Miss Dylan?
again, while you might not consider yourself a best friend, you did try to find a position and a friendship role with her, which was wrong. And if you're not gonna be her friend, then be her enemy. Like we don't have to again kumbaya this. I remember how Amber used to play, like hmm, all's fair and love and what I gotta get from me, cause it ain't war. It's just I've gotta get small. Like that's how I feel like Dylan's starting to play this. And if we don't maybe step it up with Electra.
She can't be whiny about this. She has to be on her grown woman stuff. And maybe the help of Daphne, maybe when Ivy gets back and she can just be like, I told you so. Like it could be, you know, something. Like, I I just don't know what it is. But if you want me to root for her and all of her foolishness with RJ, then we have to have some sort of change in there. Or just dig deep deep into your villain era. Dig deep into it. Like, why are you still supporting the person who's supposed to be your assistant?
You know, have her walk for some cheesecake or something. Like, I don't know, but make her, you know, you just make it harder for her. Make make Miss Dylan want to go over to Logan. I don't know, but something. Because this back and forth I love you and I love you, but we can't be together. We can't like no. Like, no. We gas prices are too damn high in LA to to have to be dealing with this foolishness, going driving to Malibu from work, doing this foolishness. Speaking of foolishness though.
Sheila got on her
La (1:08:45)
Sheila, Shella
Chanelle (1:08:47)
knees for begging, baby, please, Steffy.
La (1:08:49)
I I never
thought I'd see the day.
Chanelle (1:08:53)
That's when you know she's trying to change. Trying. Not completely there, but trying to change.
La (1:08:58)
But again, I can't, if I was Steffy, I can't take my eye off you, girl. I can't.
Chanelle (1:09:05)
You shot me.
La (1:09:06)
And I mean, the fact that Finn was like, if we have super duper supervised visits, is that okay? No, man.
Chanelle (1:09:14)
No
La (1:09:15)
No. Don't you see that this woman,
If she still had Deacon, we wouldn't have to worry about this. And if my mom hadn't stole I blame my mama. My mama brought
Chanelle (1:09:25)
I do.
La (1:09:26)
all this to our doorstep. Being so distraught by losing Ridge for the 30,000th time that she gonna run the Deacon and take the notorious killer's mate. the only person I'm mad at right now is Taylor. Taylor, damn. it's Los Angeles. you don't go on to conferences?
You were with Thorne, there's so many other people on this planet. Why did you have to go to Deacon? And now we got Sheila begging and pleading and demanding and she went off. She was like, I can come for holidays, and I've never sang happy birthday. I'm like, she making plans, she making plans. We can't
Chanelle (1:10:02)
Mm.
La (1:10:03)
let her make plans. And Finn, you know, after she, you know, Steffy just
I can't stress how we can't have this woman in our lives. If look, cause he knows she's done it before. She'll roll. She's like, I ain't staying if this woman is coming into our lives. And he just can't risk it
Chanelle (1:10:20)
Taking the kids.
La (1:10:21)
again. So he's like, you know what? We'll never talk to Sheila again. I'm like famous last words, because unless that woman is in the ground, dead ed, she gonna always try to finagle her way back in there.
Chanelle (1:10:33)
Standin' eight toes down and out.
La (1:10:36)
And so
we see the preview for this coming week. They're going to Monaco and Finn is on his way. And unfortunately the idiot did not close or, you know, take his laptop with him and no locked door. So Sheila goes into his office and sees where he's headed. You know where she going.
Chanelle (1:10:55)
Again, while
La (1:10:56)
Yeah.
Chanelle (1:10:56)
I don't root for this foolishness with her family, I
La (1:11:00)
She's in the right.
Chanelle (1:11:01)
she I wanted her to direct this towards Taylor and a
La (1:11:05)
Yes.
Chanelle (1:11:05)
little bit towards Deacon. Like again, make him give you half. Like it could have been more. And then I would have been rooting for her. Now you're just circling back because it's like I need family. I need this. I'm like, here we go. It's like you can't shoot me and can't shoot me and say get over it.
La (1:11:20)
I mean, we've already said it. The thing that she has
in her holster is if you don't give me more access to my son and my grandson, I will have your mother disbarred. She will
Chanelle (1:11:34)
Do it.
La (1:11:35)
no longer be able to practice.
Chanelle (1:11:38)
Do it.
La (1:11:38)
this is what she needs to pull. Like we know Sheila's evil. This is an evil move without killing anybody. I'm not killing anybody, but I will kill her career.
Chanelle (1:11:49)
Justifiable.
La (1:11:49)
Because and
I'm justified. She did wrong. And she even said to Finn, I messed up. I got involved with a patient. You know you did dirty. So if you don't want me to turn her in, let's figure out something. It ain't got to be every week, but I need once let's start off with once every other month. I get to see Hayes and I get to hang out with Finn. Until then, your mother should have chosen wiser.
Chanelle (1:12:17)
It's like, is Deacon truly worth all this? Is he Is he?
La (1:12:21)
No. I can't
im I can't even. Deacon's nice and all. Deacon is nice, but I'm not risking my career for this.
Chanelle (1:12:31)
Again. Okay, Bold and the Beautiful. You have me seated ready.
La (1:12:37)
Yeah.
Chanelle (1:12:38)
Getting my snack. And all my
La (1:12:40)
once I got my snacks, it's on.
Chanelle (1:12:42)
it really is. Look, all my listeners in Canada, shout out to you because you're the ones who drop those episodes that we haven't seen here in the States early. You know, it it's wonderful because I'm like, this is what I thought. This this is what I the the right track, the line of thinking.
We appreciate it.
La (1:13:02)
We do. All right. That concludes this week's episode of Lather Up with La.
Chanelle (1:13:08)
And Chanelle.
La (1:13:09)
Thank you for listening. Don't forget to subscribe and know that we're gonna be watching them stories because we do it for who?
